Random Fire Type Pokémon Generator
This generator picks a random Fire-type Pokémon from all 81 species that have Fire as one of their types, from Charmander to Gouging Fire. 36 of them are pure Fire types, and the other 45 pair Fire with a second type. Every generation from Kanto to Paldea is included.
Fire-type Pokémon are often modelled on creatures and legends linked to heat and flame, such as salamanders, foxes and phoenixes. Whether you want a new team member, a prompt for a drawing, or a trivia question, one click gives you a Fire-type Pokémon to work with.
Each result is the Pokémon's standard form. Regional forms, Mega Evolutions and other alternate forms that change a Pokémon's type are not included, so the list matches what you would find by searching the National Pokédex for Fire-type Pokémon. If you want any type at all, the Random Pokémon Generator covers the whole National Pokédex, and the generation generators let you stick to a single region.
The Fire type has been part of the series since the first games in Generation I. Knowing how it matches up against other types is the key to using Fire-type Pokémon well in battle. These are the current type-chart matchups:
Dual-type Pokémon combine the matchups of both their types, so a Fire-type Pokémon's second type can cancel out a weakness or double it.
A team built around Fire types needs teammates that can take the hits Fire can't. For each weakness, these types take reduced or no damage:
45 of the 81 Fire-type Pokémon have a second type. The most common partners are:
A second type changes a Pokémon's matchups, so two Fire types with different partners can need very different teammates.
How many Fire-type Pokémon each generation introduced:
Fire moves hit Bug, Steel, Grass, Ice Pokémon for double damage, so a Fire-type Pokémon is a strong pick whenever you expect to face those types. Remember that a Pokémon's own type gives matching moves a 50% power boost, so Fire types get the most out of Fire moves.
Every species with Fire as its first or second type, across all nine generations.
Pokémon whose only type is Fire. The remaining 45 are dual types.
Including Moltres, Entei, Ho-Oh.
The generator picks from this full list, in National Pokédex order. Each Pokémon has the same 1 in 81 chance on every roll. Dual-type Pokémon are listed under both of their types, so the 6 Fire/Flying Pokémon, for example, can also come up in the Flying-type generator.
