Random Fighting Type Pokémon Generator
This generator picks a random Fighting-type Pokémon from all 73 species that have Fighting as one of their types, from Mankey to Okidogi. 28 of them are pure Fighting types, and the other 45 pair Fighting with a second type. Every generation from Kanto to Paldea is included.
Fighting-type Pokémon are usually inspired by martial artists, wrestlers and boxers. Whether you want a new team member, a prompt for a drawing, or a trivia question, one click gives you a Fighting-type Pokémon to work with.
Each result is the Pokémon's standard form. Regional forms, Mega Evolutions and other alternate forms that change a Pokémon's type are not included, so the list matches what you would find by searching the National Pokédex for Fighting-type Pokémon. If you want any type at all, the Random Pokémon Generator covers the whole National Pokédex, and the generation generators let you stick to a single region.
The Fighting type has been part of the series since the first games in Generation I. Knowing how it matches up against other types is the key to using Fighting-type Pokémon well in battle. These are the current type-chart matchups:
Dual-type Pokémon combine the matchups of both their types, so a Fighting-type Pokémon's second type can cancel out a weakness or double it.
A team built around Fighting types needs teammates that can take the hits Fighting can't. For each weakness, these types take reduced or no damage:
45 of the 73 Fighting-type Pokémon have a second type. The most common partners are:
A second type changes a Pokémon's matchups, so two Fighting types with different partners can need very different teammates.
How many Fighting-type Pokémon each generation introduced:
Fighting moves hit Normal, Rock, Steel, Ice, Dark Pokémon for double damage, so a Fighting-type Pokémon is a strong pick whenever you expect to face those types. Watch out for Ghost types, though: Fighting moves have no effect on them at all, so keep a move of another type ready. Remember that a Pokémon's own type gives matching moves a 50% power boost, so Fighting types get the most out of Fighting moves.
Every species with Fighting as its first or second type, across all nine generations.
Pokémon whose only type is Fighting. The remaining 45 are dual types.
Including Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion.
The generator picks from this full list, in National Pokédex order. Each Pokémon has the same 1 in 73 chance on every roll. Dual-type Pokémon are listed under both of their types, so the 6 Fighting/Fire Pokémon, for example, can also come up in the Fire-type generator.
